Look everyone. Here I'd like to explain about this wall. This is a plaster wall, which has been adopted for Japanese-style architecture. Its main material is slaked lime with white color. But this wall looks a bit yellow, because mud gotten from this town is mixed. Genrerally, at the depth of this kind of wall, cut bamboos are placed vertically and horizontally with their crossing points tied firmly with straw. And they are covered with mud mixed with straw, and are dried. This process is repeated several times, and finally the wall is completed with plaster. Its original purpose is strengthening the structure and preventing fire from spreading. At the same time, it gives beautiful, ornamental effects to the district. fiber/thin fiber ですね。
